The Grief and Loss Assistance and Recovery Group (GLARC) was set up primarily for individuals who have experienced loss (death of a loved one) and desire assistance to regain stability, perspective and balance. The Community Group helps members move beyond the feeling of helplessness and hopelessness to a life of new possibilities.

Giwa Adedamola
Community Governor

Damola Giwa is an exceptional business leader with over 17 years’ experience in business strategy, growth and innovation, business and market development, digital banking and fintech, projects, products and service management, business agility and transformation in pan-African Fintech and Banking groups. He is currently the Group Head, Digital and New business for Africa at Verve International with responsibility for digitalization, innovation and new business strategy. In this role, he leads the formulation and execution of Verve digital strategy to unlock fresh and under-tapped opportunities to help individuals, businesses, financial institutions and communities prosper across Africa through innovative digital solutions and strategic partnerships.

Before this, he led the pan-Africa expansion strategy for Verve as the Group Head of Verve International Issuing and Acquiring Business expanding Verve to 13 African countries as the leading pan-African payment scheme. Earlier in his career, he worked at Stanbic IBTC Bank where he led various teams in Digital Banking, Retail Banking and Investment Banking. Damola is passionate about leveraging digital solutions to transform businesses, solve problems and drive inclusive prosperity across Africa.

In his spare time, he serves as the president of Young and Excellent Club (YEC); an NGO is co-founded in 2003 to inspire and help young people in rural communities overcome their challenges, embrace excellence, develop leadership skills and make traceable positive impacts in their communities. Damola also heads the Foundation of Faith department at The Covenant Nation (TCN) which organizes the church’s foundation and refresher course on the fundamentals of our Christian faith. Damola is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB). He holds a B.SC in Economics, an MBA and various certifications in business agility, IT service and project management.
