Women In Leadership
The Women in Leadership Community Group is a network of female professionals and entrepreneurs who are leaders in their organizations and industries. The program prepares members of this community to expand their influence and advance their leadership. The purpose of the group is to create a balanced woman (spirit, soul and body) who leads in all aspects of their lives. It provides the opportunity to interact with like-minded women from diverse backgrounds seeking to add value to themselves and to their organizations.
Deborah David
Community Governor

Deborah David is a Chartered Accountant and a certified Social and Emotional Intelligence Coach. She has coached many c-level executives on work-life integration through self-awareness. As a trainer, she helps career professionals build the right mindset for thriving in the workplace. She is an inspiring public speaker who has featured on local and international panels, conferences and events. She is a verified Mentor and a Remote Practical Experience Supervisor (RPES) at ACCA. She was one of the awardees of Top 50 Women In Management in Africa in 2022.

She is the author of the best-selling books titled: “ABC Tools For The Workplace”, “The confident woman” and “Work Easy — Proven strategies to rise quickly to the peak of your career and build thought leadership”.

She has featured in newspapers, local and international TV and radio platforms. Deborah is a writer/contributor to the Accounting and Business magazine of ACCA, UK.

She holds a Bsc. Economics degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria and a Certificate in Business Analytics from Columbia Business School, New York. She is an Aresty scholar and an alumna of Wharton Business school of the University of Pennsylvania, INSEAD France, Lagos Business School and the Institute of Directors, UK. She is a distinguished Fellow of the Association of Corporate Governance Professionals, a Fellow of the Certified Chartered Accredited Financial Analyst from the American Academy of Financial Managers (AAFM ®), a chartered member of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK), Nigeria Institute Management (Chartered), and The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA, UK).

She is the founder of Deborah David Consulting LLC, incorporated in the USA and offering corporate training, executive coaching and consulting services. She has 21+ years of proven track record as a dynamic, resourceful and versatile professional with C-Suite executive experiences in Finance, Strategy, and Corporate Governance. She is the current Chief Financial Officer of African Circle Pollution Management Limited (ACPML), a company licensed to operate Port Reception Facilities in all the six Nigerian seaports on behalf of the Nigerian Port Authority, in order to help vessels comply with international IMO convention. Before ACPML, she has worked in MTN Nigeria, KPMG, Centrica Energy, and GSK .

Her stint in KPMG and other global companies trading in various sectors like professional service, Maritime, Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Consulting, Construction, Pharmaceuticals, Telecommunications, and FMCG (to mention a few) presents her as a multi-skilled, articulate yet inclusive professional. She demonstrates agility, resilience, and ability to work warmly with people of multi-cultural orientation.

Deborah is innovative and possesses business acumen skills for internal, external, private and public sector stakeholder’s management. She is proficient at simplifying complex financial issues and providing digestible insights on critical business matters. Her role has taken her to seven (7) African countries, three (3) countries in Europe and three (3) states in America, building strategic networks, sharing insights and making presentations at conferences. She is versatile in the art and science of negotiation, emotional intelligence, and effective communication based on her multi-sectoral industry experiences.

Over the years, she has surpassed expectations in helping companies scale and produce sustainable results deploying her multi-sectoral skills and expertise in treasury management, financial analysis, forecasting, internal controls, corporate finance, financial accounting, and risk management to support Boardroom decision making processes.

She is a member of the John Maxwell team, and the Toastmasters club. She is a good facilitator, and a thought-leader who generously provide simplicity to emotional issues relating to life, career and workplace.

She is the founder of Workplace Channel where she has been acting as a career mentor to young professionals and female executives since 2012. She is an associate and a volunteer mentor at WIMBIZ (Women in Management, Business and Public Service) and other groups. She serves regularly as a resource person for initiatives focused on molding Africa’s emerging leaders, advocacy for women empowerment and youth employability.
