Otefe Edebi

Board Member

Dr. Otefe Edebi is a consultant psychiatrist and a psychologist with about 15 years of experience in the field of mental health with special interest in occupational psychiatry and addiction treatment.

He is obtained a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from University of Benin, a master’s degree in Managerial Psychology from University of Lagos and he is a fellow of the faculty of Psychiatry of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He is a certified NEBOSH IGC occupational health and safety professional and an alumnus of Health Management Program of Enterprise Development Center of the Pan Atlantic University. He also holds a certificate in leadership and management in Health from the global health program of the University of Washington.

He is passionate about mental health issues and its advocacy and awareness. He is a thought leader in the area of mental and emotional well-being. One of his personal favorite mantra is that “if we want to change the world we see, then we must first change the world within.”

He is the recipient of the 2017 PSR Development in Nigeria Merit Award (DINMA) for his contribution to mental health particularly in the private circle. He is the pioneer employee assistance program professional of the NLNG, pioneer medical director of Tranquil and Quest Nigeria which is affiliated to GenPsych which has its head office in New Jersey, and has served as a consultant to both indigenous and multinational organizations on mental health related matters.

He serves as the Medical Director of Gracehill Place Hospital, which is a 28-bed Lagos-based private mental health and substance abuse treatment facility which is operated by the management and partners of Gracehill Behavioral Health Services Ltd.

He is happily married with children and his hobbies include, reading, watching series and spending time with family.
